n a road trip that we made out West we had a long list of places to see and things to do. After spending time in Monument Valley, and by the way put that on your Bucket List, we ventured up Hwy 163. The landscape was so different from North Carolina with desert mesas and red rocks.

On the list was Mexican Hat. I took this picture from our car window. It’s amazing and you have to look at it and ask yourself, HOW? There’s a 300’ stone base that is holding up a cap rock. This cap rock may look small in my picture but the rock itself is more than 60’ in length. It is one of Utah’s strangest rock formations as this flattened rock is PERFECTLY BALANCED on a stone cone. Oh, and did I mention it’s said to be 250 million years old.
Whether it’s that old or not it’s stayed balanced in that position for a very long time.
Are you BALANCED? They say that you need to have your Physical, Mental and Spiritual life in balance or you will become stressed and unhealthy. So, I guess I’m out of BALANCE.
Finding your BALANCE takes planning, consistency and some self-discipline and each little change you make will make a difference. It’s a journey and we must keep moving forward.
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”….. Albert Einstein
However when I looked at Mexican Hat all I could think of was the cartoon “The Road Runner”. The Coyote was always falling off this rock.
