Fall Festivals

HomeBlogFall Festivals

Every year in the fall a local small town near me host a festival called “Cotton Ginning Days”. The park has a working cotton gin, antique tractor exhibits (which my dad shows his old CASE tractor that was his dad’s), food trucks with Bar-B-Que and funnel cakes, live country music, vintage farm equipment and many crafter’s exhibits. You’ve got the picture, a fun day where you step back in time.

Fall Festivals

This past year I had my grandchildren with me. The two girls were all about the handmade craft booths knowing that grandma would buy them something. In the mist of the crowded festival, we happened upon a blessing. There was a husband-and-wife vendor that custom made beaded bracelets, the perfect gift for my girls. They got to pick out their beads and as the vendor made the bracelet, he told them the story of Christ and what the colors represented. (Black represents sin. Red represents blood. Blue represents baptism. White represents cleansing. Green beads represents growth.)

The girls stood mesmerized as they picked out their beads and watched their bracelets being made. What a blessing to know my girls left with more than a bracelet.

(Proverbs 22:6)….”Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Train….Train….Train. A command given to us adults by God.
