We make sure our clothes match and our hair is combed before going out in public. We use our “big” words when trying to impress our peers at work or in social settings. We use our manners when eating in restaurants around other patrons. We flaunt our name brand shoes and clothes to impress our friends. We volunteer to do things we really don’t want to do to look good in front of other volunteers… and the list goes on.
Oh, to be 5 years old again, where you can sit around in a restaurant wearing a “shark balloon hat” and not even care what others think because you know you look cool.
