If you are ever traveling down Hwy 151 in South Carolina, probably on your way to the beaches, stopping at McLeod’s Farm Roadside Market is a must. From the moment you walk through the door the wonderful smell of fresh peaches, homemade strawberry breads, pecan pies, strawberries, blackberries, jams, chow-chow and don’t forget the fruit cobblers topped with ice cream.

The orchards have been in the McLeod family since 1916 and now a 4th generation McLeod is running the largest peach orchard in the area with over 1000 acres not counting 60 acres of strawberries and 15 acres of blackberries.
I recently stopped with my daughter and grandchildren on our way home from the beach. Stopping is a must for our family. We plan our vacation travel around McLeod’s hours of operation. The kids love the Antique Tractor Museum and Antique Cars but not as much as the hot peach and blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
Treat yourself to this part of Americana that is slowly fading away. Be amazed at the blessings of agriculture and the hardworking farmers that make it all possible.
(Gen. 1:29) …..God said, “See, I give you every seed-bearing plant that is upon all the earth, and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit; they shall be yours for food.”
